The Friends of Parkwood Springs

    The Friends of Parkwood Springs is a voluntary group that was formed in 2010 to:

    • help to protect and conserve the wildlife and the natural environment of the green space of Parkwood Springs;
    • work towards improving the green space as a resource for local residents and the City;
    • encourage responsible use of the natural environment that Parkwood Springs offers

    You are very welcome to join us. Our membership is now about 150. We will be very happy to add you to our membership list. Simply 'Get in touch'. There is no membership fee at present, and you can be involved as little or as much as you like.  We keep all members informed about meetings, plans and events, but there are also opportunities to do practical work to improve the site, to campaign, and get funding to make improvements. You can explore and learn more about the site, its wildlife and its history with us, and just enjoy it!

    The landfill site, which is currently situated in the middle of Parkwood Springs, has now closed to new tipping and is being restored, so one of the longer term aims of the Friends Group is to ensure that the whole of Parkwood Springs really does become ‘our country park in the city’.

    The Friends Group is grateful for financial and other support from the Parks and Countryside Service and Burngreave Councillors of Sheffield City Council.
